Another Version of the Infamous Genuine Mudpie Beanie Pattern

This lilac chunky crochet beanie is a treat to make. I’m aboslutly hooked on Genuine Mudpie’s slow hat pattern. After making a short beanie version of this pattern with Aran yarn – which looks amazing – I’ve been waiting to try it with different size yarn and hook.

I love crocheting with chunky yarn as it takes much less time to create projects but the price point often puts me off buying anything new.

Then, my mum shared this awesome trick from Briana K where with some clever moves you can turn 1 skein of lightweight yarn into something chunky.

It is soooooo clever and it saves you having to wind up separate balls.

I’ll admit at first it didn’t make any sense to me so watch the video at least 3/4 times before you atempt it.

Once you understand how the lopping is working to create the 3 strands, you’re off.
